Buy a Web Address (Domain)

Choose a domain that will be your website address and your email address.  

• e.g. www.example.com would serve as your website and as your email yourname@example.com

Sunrun and Freedom Forever have decided to not allow generic domains for emails.  If you have a generic domain you can not get a Sunrun or Freedom Forever account going forward. 

Zoho Mail

We have found that Zoho Mail has the cheapest starter plan and a very reasonable per user per month plan to keep costs low. 

As of June 2024 for $1 a month you can have 5 gigs of email storage per user per month and have a custom domain on these email accounts.

Google Workspace

Other companies like Google Workspace allow many more services with each email account but cost much more per user.  As of June 2024 it is $6 per user per month and you get a lot more than just custom email.

Other Providers

Through domain providers such as godaddy and most all domain providers they have instructions on how to set up email services on their platforms.  Each platform will vary on ease of use and the interface that is used for your teams to access their email.

Setup Email

This is important before registering your Tax ID.  You will probably want a new email where the official LLC registration will go to.  You can always use your personal @gmail @yahoo @outlook or some other generic email system, but it looks more professional if you are doing business through a purchased domain.

Note: You may also want to not use your personal email because that email will be listed publicly and can be looked up.

Note: If you bought the domain from google domains will make setting up email and a Google Workspace very easy.
